Play to a rhythm, just not to the one in the game.
Starting this app up, I noticed a few unnecessary lag issues that happen when you start a new game. However, things pick up after that when you realize that the game itself is actually pretty fun. In fact, the lag ONLY happens when you start the app. Everything is clearly labeled and easy to understand, which should always be a plus for anything. The entire game is presented in a bright and vibrant way. The graphics are smooth and pleasant to look at. No rough edges were seen in any of the assets I saw. Everything is responsive and works the way it should. Eventually, it becomes very rhythmic, especially when you really get into the whole ethos of the game. Unfortunately, the advertisements that play in between some games kinda ruins the flow of a playthrough. Also, the ball physics can get a little wonky at times. I understand that the game should be getting harder as it progresses, but instead of making the ball squeeze through the edges of the paddle and into the void, just make the paddle smaller and harder to control. Actually, I dont think the ball is supposed to do that, but Ill let it slide. The music, however, I cant let go. Its probably hard to get rights to music, but the main theme in this game was much too loud and very irritating. The sounds, however, are decent and surprisingly higher quality than the music. Overall, if you like Pong, pick this game up. Its a fine addition to your phone. In fact, if you like playing games to a rhythm, definitely pick this up. Its fun to play with fast-paced music. Also, a word of advice: dont play it with the in-game music on. Youll probably just want to mute it.
